Two warranties on every Beaver roof
The manufacturer covers the shingles. We cover the installation, in writing, with a local number to call.
Quick answer
Every Beaver roof carries two layers of protection: the manufacturer's limited lifetime shingle warranty on the materials, and our own written workmanship warranty on the installation. One covers the product, the other covers how we put it on.
What are the two warranties on my roof?
Quick answer
Manufacturer = material defects, limited lifetime with a prorated schedule. Beaver workmanship = installation, covered in writing with a local phone number to call.
| Item | Manufacturer warranty | Beaver workmanship warranty |
|---|---|---|
| Shingle defects and delamination | Covered | — |
| Premature granule loss | Covered | — |
| Algae staining | Covered for the AR term | — |
| Nailing, exposure and course alignment | — | Covered |
| Flashing, valley and pipe boot detail | — | Covered |
| Ridge vent and intake installation | — | Covered |
| Gutter hangers and miters | — | Covered |
| Storm, hail and wind damage | Not covered | Not covered — this is an insurance claim |
| Damage from another contractor's work | Not covered | Not covered |
Why does workmanship coverage matter more than the brochure?
Quick answer
Because roughly nine out of ten roof leaks come from installation and flashing details, not defective shingles.
A limited lifetime shingle warranty is close to standard across brands. What varies enormously is whether the company that installed it still exists and still answers the phone. We have worked out of 3190 Leaphart Rd for years, and homeowners in our reviews mention us coming back a year later to fix a gutter miter at no charge. That is the whole point.
What should I do to keep coverage intact?
Quick answer
Keep the attic ventilated, keep gutters flowing, do not let anyone screw anything through the roof, and call us for repairs instead of a handyman.
Two low-cost habits protect the whole system: clear the gutters (or install micro-mesh guards, since we are in loblolly pine country) and have the roof looked at after any significant storm. Our free 19-point inspection does not expire because you already bought the roof — use it. The inspection checklist shows what we look at.

Frequently asked questions
What does the manufacturer shingle warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects in the shingle itself — delamination, adhesive failure, premature granule loss — under a limited lifetime term for the original owner, typically with a prorated schedule after the first 10–15 years and a separate algae-resistance period.
What does the Beaver workmanship warranty cover?
How we installed it: nailing, flashing, valley detail, pipe boots, ridge vent and gutter attachment. If water gets in because of our installation, we come back and fix it at no charge.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
Manufacturer coverage is transferable once under most programs within a set window after sale. Our workmanship coverage transfers to the buyer for the remaining term — just call the office so we can note the file.
What voids a roof warranty?
Another contractor working on the roof, mounting equipment or satellite dishes through the shingles, pressure-washing the roof, inadequate attic ventilation left uncorrected, and storm damage — which is an insurance matter, not a warranty matter.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Call (803) 991-7663 with your address. We pull the file, look at the install photos, and schedule an inspection. No claim forms, no runaround.
